Christ in the Carpenter's Shop Mabel Alington Royds
The compressed and tightly-organised composiiton of this religious image suggests that here Royds was looking not only to Japanese prints and Indian printing techniques, but also at the work of some of the mid-19th century Pre-Raphaelites, including, of course, Millais' Christ in the House of His Parents, 1849-50.
The print is good and the signature is pale, but perfectly legible.
